| Cheryl and i had a pizza party at chuck e cheese's yesterday. they have coupons for 100 tokens for $10. it was pretty fun. The game we played the most was the game where the coin you drop pushes other coins.. and you get tickets based on the number of coins that drop into the hole. i got enough tickets for a little football, and she got cotton candy. I was amazed at how many kids left their tickets in the machine after they played. You'd see like 1-2 tickets sticking out of the machine all over the place. Some kids even left tokens in the coin return or just on the floor.
this week is the houseboat trip! it's a short 3 day work week, and we'll be on the lake thursday to sunday.

| i finally made my first ebay transaction! i sold an mp3 player! i actually bought these two mp3 players for pretty cheap to sell on ebay like 3-4 years ago, but i didn't get around to selling them until now. i even opened ebay and paypal accounts back in 2002, but never used them. anyway, the first one sold for like $30! not bad! i'm going to list the other one on sunday. i read that sunday evenings are the best time to end auctions. my first auction ended at like 5:15pm on a thursday. what a rookie mistake. oh well, i'm learning. what else can i sell?

| i got my lens!! it came back in stock and was in my gold box quick
picks with 5% off! it should be here in two days! i also ordered a
lens hood and uv filter from b&h. exciting.
yesterday, cheryl and i went to sports chalet to look for a new hat.
last weekend we went hiking at angel island with eric, jenn, julie,
roland, donella and tony, and i wore a hat that didn't have too much
ventilation. it got all soaked up with my sweat. anyway, i wanted a
hat like this one i got at disneyland... it has really good ventilation
and good shade too. that hat is up in the bay right now, and i need
one for pismo and palm springs in a few weeks. well, we found the same
exact hat in a different color! i couldn't ask for anything better, so
i got it.
when we were there, we also saw these camelbaks on sale. i kinda
needed a new one, because the opening on mine fused shut. at least,
that's what i think happened. it doesn't open anymore. i think the
o-ring dried out or melted or something. i also have an older camelbak
that works just fine, but it's in the bay and it has the old style
opening that's harder to fill. at first, i wasn't going to get one. i
was just planning to buy a reservoir to stick in my backpack that's
compatible.. but then cheryl said... "you can use it in mexico." we're
going on one of those 3 night cruises in august. that convinced me.
well, that and it was a decent sale. cheryl also got a new one even
though she just got a new one like two weeks ago. this one holds more
though. i guess she can use her old one biking and her new one hiking
or traveling.
oh! i almost forgot! on saturday, we were planning to go to lowe's
because we got this $10 off $50 coupon in the mail. but before we
went, i found these printable $10 off $25 coupons online. we ended up
using a bunch of them on charcoal, light bulbs, filters for our
heater/a/c, a blender, a hand mixer, and gloves, knee pads and pruning
shears for gardening. when we got home, we used the hand mixer to make
some pancakes. we also barbecued a bunch of stuff yesterday. ny
steaks are on sale at albertsons for like $3.50/lb. that's pretty
cheap. anyway, i'll probably go back to lowe's this week to pick up
some more filters and get some vacuum bags too.
cheryl and i counted our change this weekend. we call it our "trip
fund," but i'm not sure what we're going to use it on. there's about
$173 in there right now. i think the last time we took our change to
the bank was like a year or two ago. since then, we got this big coke
bottle coin bank. i think it'll hold $2000-3000 when it's full. I'm
not sure we'll wait until it gets that full before we cash some of this
change in though.
okay, one last thing. cheryl's parents' new dell computer arrived here
last week. it's a pretty nice one. quad core processor.. 22" monitor.. i think it'll last them quite a while. friday night, we installed some
software (antivirus, office, windows updates, etc.). we'll be bringing it to them in like three weeks when we go to pismo.

| i was so close to buying my lens! it finally came back in stock on
amazon and i was trying to do this trick for 5% off, but i couldn't get
it to work in time. it's normally $1000, so that would be $50 off.
$50 that i could use towards a hood and filters. anyway, later in the
day i checked to make sure it was still in stock and it had that
message that shows when they're running out, "5 left..." oh man. a
couple hours later, 4 left.. at night before i went to sleep, 2 left.
when i woke up this morning, they were all gone! i guess i could have
just bought it to have it, but i could get it for $1000 at other
places. so, it wouldn't be on sale or anything. oh, but canon announced a 3-5% price increase on lenses to dealers.. effective may 1. so, those increases will probably pass down to us. hopefully it comes back in stock before we see the increase. there's also a chance that canon will announce it's spring rebates. so, i guess i'll just wait for now.

| wow, it's april already!! xanga looks different! i almost couldn't figure out how to post a new entry!
work has been cool. i get lazy sometimes though, and that's not good. there are so many distractions here at home. i still like it though.
we just got directv yesterday. it's pretty cool. cheryl says the hd picture is clearer than the cable hd we had. the installation went smooth. the installer said our house was pre-wired for it.
so, i've been wanting a new tv. at first, i wanted to get a bigger bedroom tv and move that tv downstairs... but then i'd have to change the wall bracket to one that supports a bigger tv. instead, i guess we can just get a new tv downstairs. right now, we have a 27" crt... the hole is only 38.5" wide, so the biggest one we can fit is a 40". not all 40" ones can fit though. i've only found one so far that'll fit, and it's 38.2" wide. i'll keep looking.
i've also been wanting a new camera lens. cheryl and i went to the hoover dam the other week and our lens wasn't wide enough. i've been looking at the ef-s 17-55/2.8 one, but it's like $1000. maybe we'll get it before the next wedding or event or something.
